Summer Camp Overview

PMBC offers affordable overnight summer camps for ages 8 to 17. Our programs emphasize relationships with others and with God. Our goal is to introduce children and teens to the salvation that only Jesus offers and help them grow spiritually in their relationship with Him. PMBC teaches the truth of God’s word through engaging sessions from our teachers, evening worship services, drama, praise music, devotionals and more. Each week of camp is age specific for optimal impact.

PMBC stretches campers spiritually, relationally and physically. We present an opportunity for campers to evaluate their beliefs and actions according to the Bible. Kids learn teamwork by living, playing, and competing with new peers. We also challenge campers to disconnect from technology, engage in social interaction and rediscover outdoor fun.

Campers sleep in dorm-style rooms with upwards of 10 other campers, a counselor, and co-counselor. Roommate requests can be made during the registration process; we will try our best to honor these requests, so your camper is paired with a friend.

We take our food seriously at PMBC, which is why we offer healthy options at every meal. We’re happy to accommodate dietary needs, just be sure to let us know ahead of time.

All of our staff and volunteers are held to industry standards for background checks and clearances to ensure the utmost safety of our campers.

Lodging

Campers sleep in recently renovated dorm-style rooms in the Woodside Building. These rooms have bunk beds and bathroom with two sinks, two toilets and a shower. Beds come with protective mattresses - campers are responsible to bring their own bedding. There is plenty of of room for luggage under the beds or in the closet. Each room holds up to 10 campers, a counselor and co-counselor. Camper's rooms are not air-conditioned, however, because of the cool nights in the Poconos, rooms stay comfortable throughout the day.

Meals

Campers eat well at PMBC! You'll hardly ever see us pull out pre-frozen meals; we make as much as we can from scratch. We strive to offer delicious but well-balanced meals. Campers eat with their counselor and cabin-mates at their cabin's table in our air-conditioned dining hall. On Sunday campers will enjoy dinner. Monday through Friday, PMBC serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Orange and apple juice is available for breakfast, and homemade iced tea and lemonade are prepared for lunch and dinner. On Saturday, campers are served breakfast before leaving the grounds. Once or twice during the week the staff will host meals from the pavilion or offer a unique cookout experience where campers cook their food over the fire!

Electives

During check-in on Sunday, campers are given the opportunity to choose a personal interest elective for the morning, and another for the afternoon. Campers will enjoy their morning and afternoon electives Monday through Friday. Elective time slots typically last 40 to 50 minutes for each session. Each activity is fascilitated by a counselor or another capable staff member. Electives vary from week to week. PMBC attempts to offer a variety of interest areas. Here are some examples of electives we've offered in the past: Hatchet Throwing, Archery, Kayaking, Knife Throwing, Boxing/MMA basics (no sparring), T-shirt design, Drama/skits, Dance/Worship, Cooking, Outdoor Adventure (hiking, fire/fort building, creek walking) sewing.
